Our Technology > The Sonomed PacScan 300 AP Ultrasound Pachymeter

The Sonomed PacScan 300 AP is a highly accurate portable ultrasound pachymetry system. It accurately measures corneal thickness by means of ultrasound waves. It has a unique feature of acquiring 256 measurements per scan to ensure accuracy measurements. This system allows surgeons to add another layer of safety through additional, independent corneal thickness measurements already obtained by the Oculus Pentacam HR. This is critical in preoperative assessment and surgical planning of refractive surgery patients. Being portable, surgeons may also use it intraoperatively to measure stromal bed and flap thickness to ensure utmost safety of the procedure especially useful in patients with borderline corneal thickness and in re-treatments.
