Your Consultation

On the day of your consultation, you will be asked to fill up a patient questionnaire. You will undergo a comprehensive eye examination to determine if you are a suitable refractive surgery candidate.

The comprehensive examination includes a microscopic examination of the eye, manifest and cycloplegic refractions, comprehensive measurements of your cornea's shape and thickness, contrast sensitivity tests, custom wavefront measurements, the use of trial lenses to simulate refractive surgical outcomes and a loose lens test for NearVision CK.

If you are a suitable candidate for any of the procedures, you and our doctors will determine the optimum level of vision correction you require.

Since your visual needs and concerns will be crucial in determining which procedure is best for you, all recommended options will be laid out for you. You will also be advised about your likely outcome and made fully aware of the implications of laser vision correction. It is a good idea to plan on staying in the laser center for at least one to two hours. Since your pupils will be dilated, you will have some difficulty reading for a few hours after the consultation. Do not drive during the next few hours after the consultation.
